We Believe
There is one God who is completely perfect, all powerful and eternal, existing in three persons: God, the Father; Jesus Christ , the Son; and the Holy Spirit. John 14:26, John 15:26-27
Mankind is a created being, made by God in His own likeness. Because we may choose to disobey God (sin) he is subject to spiritual and physical death. Man is born with a natural desire to sin, and the resulting sin breaks his relationship with God. Genesis 1:26, Romans 5:12-14
Restoration with God and everlasting life (salvation) is available to all people because of Christ’s life and death. Those who repent of their sins, and believe on Him receive the gift of salvation on the basis of belief and trust alone; not by any good deeds they might do to become Christ followers (Christians). Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8.
Jesus Christ gave up His privileges and power as God to be born as a man by virgin birth to live on earth. He lived a perfect life and eventually was murdered by crucifixion. His death paid the penalty required for the wrong that was and will be done by man. He rose from the dead physically and returned to heaven. John 6:62, Philippians 2:5-11.
The Holy Spirit is sent by God to live in, teach, guide, and empower the Christian, and convince the non-Christian of sin. John 16:8-13.
Every Christian has the ability and freedom to approach God on his/her own. The “believer” has the privilege, the right, and the confidence to come to God in prayer, worship, and fellowship without the help of any other clergy i.e. Reverend, Pastor, Priest etc. 1 Timothy 2:5, 1 Peters 2:4-5.
The Bible consists of the Old and New Testaments only, which is God inspired (God’s own word to man) and is incapable of error (perfect). It is the only and final authority of the Christian faith concerning Christian living and teaching. Joshua 23:6, 2 Timothy 3:16.
Jesus Christ will return again, this will be called “The Second Coming”, which will be both visible and personal. This event will see the bodily resurrection of believers to eternal life with God, “Heaven.” The unbeliever will see eternal separation from God, “Hell.” Matthew 16:27, Acts 1:11.
The local church is a group of Christians who meet regularly together for worship of God, teaching and instruction from the Bible, prayer, fellowship and encouragement as well as baptizing believers and remembering Christ’s death (the Communion service). Acts 2:42, Acts 5:14.
The local church body is governed by its own church members under the lordship of Jesus Christ and does not come under control or discipline of any other church denominational hierarchy. Each member has an equal say in the affairs of the church, which cannot be overruled by the clergy. 1 Corinthians 4:26, 1 Timothy 5:21.
Church membership is not a requirement for regular Sunday morning church attendance or any other mid-week program. The church is open to anyone in the community who desires to know God better, regardless of age, race, colour, or religion. Church membership is available to anyone who is a believer and follower of Jesus Christ and has been baptized by immersion since becoming a believer. Acts 2:41, Ephesians 2:19.
The church has been instructed by Jesus Himself to go and make disciples of all peoples, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit; teaching them to obey everything that He has commanded. Matthew 28:19, Mark 1:8.
